[안쥐] 졸업유예하면 나쁜 건가요

[만화] 오픈 라벨 플라시보 현상에 대하여

A nine-panel comic strip in a detailed, semi-realistic style. The protagonist, a woman with a bun and headphones, explores the concept of 'Open-label Placebo'. The story begins with a question: can a placebo effect occur even if you know the medicine is fake? It introduces a 2010 study by Professor Ted Kaptchuk of Harvard Medical School, where IBS patients were told they were receiving "sugar pills." Surprisingly, their symptoms improved significantly. This is called 'Open-label Placebo'—where the ritual of "taking medicine" triggers the unconscious mind, even when the rational mind knows it's a placebo. The protagonist applies this to her own life, noting that while her actual medication takes time to build up in her system, she feels a sense of calm just five minutes after swallowing it. She acknowledges that her reason knows the drug hasn't kicked in yet, but the relief of "having taken the medicine" heals her first. The comic concludes with the character studying by a window at sunset, reflecting that there is still much we don't know about our bodies, and it is thanks to these mysteries that she can carry on with her daily life.
